iNum from MOBIVOX is a personal, Global Telephone Number for receiving inbound calls from any MOBIVOX country. Callers must first dial a Local or National MOBIVOX Access number followed by # and your MOBIVOX iNum.
Your MOBIVOX iNum is like your personal "800" number – calls to your iNum are like "collect calls" or "reverse charge" calls. It is a great way for distant family, friends and colleagues who do not need to be MOBIVOX members to stay in touch with you.
Your iNum has a country code of +883 -- the "country code" for planet earth!
883 numbers will provide interoperability between VoIP Service Providers. This means that users of MOBIVOX, Skype, Google Talk, Gizmo etc. can call each other using 883 numbers instead of VoIP usernames (eg: Skype user names). See list of VoIP providers supporting 883.
How does MOBIVOX iNum work?Your MOBIVOX iNum is a “virtual number” for inbound calls. You control which of your "real phones" you want to ring when someone calls your MOBIVOX iNum.
Calls to your iNum will ring your currently active iNum Call Forwarding location. You can periodically change which phone rings eg: your Mobile, home, Office or any other phone. You control your reachability on the MOBIVOX website or via voice commands – callers do not have to know or remember your various phone numbers. And your real phone numbers remain anonymous.
To contact you using your MOBIVOX iNum, non-MOBIVOX members must first dial a Local or National MOBIVOX Access Number, Press # and then dial your MOBIVOX iNum. Callers need not be MOBIVOX members. You need to advise them of the MOBIVOX local access numbers in their locations.
iNum calls are "reverse charge", collect calls. When you receive an iNum call, if you have selected the "Announce my iNum Calls" option, MOBIVOX Voice Assistant will tell you who is calling and what the charges will be should you accept the call. If you have not selected the "Announce my iNum Calls" option, the call will be sent you as any normal incoming call with the caller id of the caller if available.
Callers from VoIP networks participating in +883 such as Skype, Jajah etc can dial you directly on your MOBIVOX iNum.
As a MOBIVOX member, you can call your contacts on any VoIP network supporting 883 numbers by dialing your contacts, iNum from ANY phone.
The MOBIVOX contact book now supports the iNum field. You can call your contacts at their iNums by simply calling the MOBIVOX Access number and saying “Call Joe iNum Number” or manually dialing their iNum.
What are the benefits of having a MOBIVOX iNum?There are numerous advantages to owning and using a MOBIVOX iNum -- a new kind of phone number for a new kind of world. A world that enables local presence and global relationships wherever you may be.
With a MOBIVOX iNum, you can manage BOTH your reachability AND your anonymity. You can Activate or Deactivate your iNum at anytime and choose where calls are to be delivered. Callers do not need to know where to reach you and they do need to know your real telephone numbers (home, mobile). If you have selected the "Announce my iNum Calls" option, callers are asked to state their names and this is announced to you with a choice to accept the call or not.
MOBIVOX iNum also provides the cost-effective convenience of reverse charges for calls received from your distant friends and family or colleagues. Callers DO NOT have to be MOBIVOX customers – they simply dial a MOBIVOX Access Number and then your MOBIVOX iNum which looks like 883 5100 11 xxx xxx.
What are the costs for MOBIVOX iNum? How do I manage my MOBIVOX iNum?You can manage your MOBIVOX iNum from either the MOBIVOX website or by voice commands.
You can activate or deactivate your MOBIVOX at any time. When deactivated, you will not receive any iNum calls.
You can change where you want your MOBIVOX iNum calls forwarded.
Manage your MOBIVOX iNum on the website in the “Call Me” Options section of “My Account”.
For voice commands to manage your MOBIVOX iNum see Voice Commands.
What does the "Announce my iNum Calls" option mean?If this option is selected, your iNum callers will be asked for their names. When you answer the call, this will be announced to you along with the charges you will incur. You will then be given the option to accept or reject the call.
If this option is disabled, your iNum calls will be sent to you directly. When you answer, you will be told that it is an iNum call and then immediately connected to the caller.
In either case, if available, you will be presented with the caller id when your phone is ringing.
Can I control who calls me?Yes. You control who you want to ring through to your phone. You can limit it to callers who are on your MOBIVOX contact list. In addition, you can create a “Blocked Number List”. Also, with the "Announce my iNum Calls" option, MOBIVOX will announce the name of the caller and ask you if you would like to accept the call before connecting you.
