We hear you loud and clear!
We’re not only listening to what you have to say, we’ve been taking your recommendations to heart. As a result, we’re making changes to Mobivox to better fit your needs and expectations.
Since launching Mobivox, many of you have told us that making inexpensive high quality calls is more important to you than making free calls that are poor in quality. For a long time now, we’ve been working hard to improve connection and call quality and, in the coming weeks, we’re going to push a series of changes that will make an even more noticeable difference.
Starting in July, because we’re going to be using more expensive networks to connect you to your contacts around the world, calls between Mobivox members will be charged at our regular low cost rates. You will still benefit from better service and big savings on your phone bill, while calls to your Skype buddies will remain totally free and unlimited.
We hope you like the approach we're taking and see this as a positive change.
As always, we invite you to keep the feedback coming.
Sincerely,
Jerome Arnaud
Director of Operations
Mobivox

looks like i could be moving voip service
changing the free calls that are fundamental to Mobivox gaining it's customers, in my opinion, is an extremely bad move.
without the free calls, it's almost guaranteed that there will not be as many people joining Mobivox, as well as many people stopping using the service.
by "regular low cost rates" do you mean that all calls will be 1.9c?
i hope that these changes will benefit Mobivox - you really are a great service. However, I think that you will be losing some customers, as well as not gaining as many new ones - and at a much slower rate.
people will move elsewhere
by the way:

If this is true, the 'many people' are the ones who have obviously been complaining about the sound quality, however i bet that there are many, many, many more people who would rather keep the free minutes with the 'poorer' sound quality.
put a survey out with the question "why did you join Mobivox", and you'll find out that the biggest, if not the sole reason, is because of the free minutes.
my post probably won't change things, but i really can only see it going downhill come next month.
Mobivox is a great service, however there are a lot of people who won't 'care' about this once they lose their free minutes
goodluck anyway

| I have been fustruated with consistently poor quality. Whether this move will actually improve quality remains to be seen. Until I see better quality I remain skeptical. |

I totally agree with enjibenji.
Without the free Mobivox calls, people are not going to use Mobivox anymore. You are making a bad move. I understand that you have to pay for those new servers, but I myself am not going to use Mobivox anymore if I have to pay for it. |

Free calls around the world was the only reason why i joined and told most of my family and friends to join... call quality wasn't too bad for the money !
Thanks for listening to us, will have to find an other service now... |

OMG Come ON!!! Do you seriously expect us to believe this?
Do you think we really WANT to pay money to make calls?... Oh hang on a minute.. maybe.. yes... YES.. PLEASE!!... CHARGE ME!... I DONT FEEL WHOLE UNLESS I GIVE AWAY MY MONEY!!
Seriously, there are dozens of ways to make cheaper long distance calls these days. Free Mobivox was great!!... but this "change" is not only crap, but presented in a way to insult the intelligence!
This change will mean I'll leave Mobivox just like the majority of others here on this thread, and most likely the majority of ALL users!
Are you hearing LOUD and CLEAR Mobivox??? |

| not sure who you have been listening to. We switched to Mobivox for the feature you are taking away. I assume that you always intended to make this move -once you had built a member base. However, these members are mobile |

Guess I'll be leaving in July. I don't know who you're listening to about wanting to be charged. My guess is board members, not "us".
Since you hear me "loud and clear" though, why don't you go ahead and suggest which new service I should switch to for free calls? |

really bad news.
no free call? how can you compete with jajah and nonoh? do you learn from skype?
if you cancel the free minutes in July, I will switch back to jajah and nonoh, even try new VOIP service.
will you refund if I ask? |

These are sad news, Mobivox was convenient, but frankly, this change is understandable. So far I couldn't get how can they make any money.

I appreciate the free run we've had, but i guess all good things come to an end.
I would appreciate honesty though, better to tell us outright that your business model was not working, rather than some story about call quality
Thanks again, i'll be moving off in July. |

| Personally I have always found the mobivox voice quality just fine and I joined because of the free calling. If the free calling goes, then I will be leaving as well. Too bad, as I also used the service for paid calls as well as I liked the combination of free for some and paying for some others. In fact, I had been making credit purchases for three different accounts as the people I talk to are world wide and I had thought Mobivox was an answer to stay in touch with those who just wanted to pick up a phone and not be bothered with anything else, including Skype. We chat allot so the free minutes can go quickly and therefore credit is required. So, when you take the free calling away, I go to. I am sure I am not alone, and I am stopping my personal recruiting drive as of now. What is the point? I am a VOIP kind of guy, so I guess I have to google up another solution. |

Hello,
Thank you for your feedbacks.
I'd like to start answering some of the comments made so far.
I'm not sure it's fair to sum up MOBIVOX as a "free calling system".
Free calls between members is only one component of a service that is also offering very cheap international calls, free and unlimited calls to Skype contacts, conferences, contacts upload and easy access from any phone, voice activated attendant, a call-me button...
It would also not be fair to consider that all the MOBIVOX customers are only making free calls. Actually, MOBIVOX's customers who are saving the most on phone bills are calling destinations at our very low cost rates.
Call quality is not an excuse. We've always tried to be as transparent as possible, with no "asterisk" and no "hidden fee". Today we've created this thread to discuss openly.
Most of you have seen an improvement on call quality recently. We've been conducting several weeks of surveys and most of you have also asked for an extra step.
Our mission remains unchanged: offering a high quality calling system while lowering your phone bill. We understand that those of you who are only making free calls can be upset today but tomorrow, we will still be here for you, delivering you better call quality, saving you a lot of money while offering you a unique combination of contact management and voice activated attendant accessible from any phone.
Jerome Arnaud

Even with the free minutes, I must have spent up to 20$ in the last 2 days or something.
However, without the free minutes, my money stays with me, or with another VoIP service. |

I'm sure you realize better then most of us how saturated VoIP market is. By removing free calls offer you remove the most noticeable thing that makes you stand apart from the crowd. I think you should save "free" option at any price - you can vary what it actually is. |
